Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Outpatient Nutrition Counseling Services
Nutrition Services at Gerber Memorial Hospital provides individual nutrition counseling to patients and families. The Nutrition Counseling Service is staffed by two Registered Dietitians (RDs).
What is a Registered Dietitian? An RD is a professional with nutritional expertise in a wide range of areas. When you need help with your eating plan, whether you want to lose weight, control your cholesterol or blood pressure, or simply learn about a healthy diet, a registered dietitian can help guide you in setting nutritional goals. An RD will provide you with up-to-date information that is based on scientific facts.
What does a Registered Dietitian do? The RD will perform a complete nutrition assessment that includes medical, nutritional, and lifestyle factors. Based on this assessment, the RD will help identify practical and achievable goals and develop an individualized nutrition treatment plan that matches your lifestyle and preferences while helping you achieve your goals.
